Rolando 2: Quest for the Golden Orchid Review. by Simon Vanderveen

Rolando. The first legitimate mega-hit to hit the Appstore now has a sequel! If you were debating spending the $10[excuse me $9.99] on this game, go do it. Its worth every penny.

OK, to start off Rolando improves on every aspect, the levels are shorter(yet more of them[45 levels]), the game draws you in and keeps you within its jaws till you are done with the experience. You start the experience in the Kingdom of Rolando, after completing 10 levels there you hop on a boat and head to the Island of Fotanis where the bulk of your adventure takes place. On the Island there are 6 different areas each with distinct areas. Moving Rolando involves highlighting desired Rolando and tilting the iPhone for movement and swiping up on the screen to jump.  There are 2 new gameplay additions-The Chili and Vehicles. If you serve a chili to a special Rolando he balloons and gains the ability to fly. Vehicles give Rolando extra speed and invincibility(while inside.). In each level you are supposed to get your Rolando(s) from your starting point to a door at the end of each level, there is a timer  and diamonds to collect for replay value.

With intelligent design, lots of personality, and addictive, fun gameplay there is almost no reason to buy this game. If $10 is alot for you…save up.Definite BUY!

Creeps Review by froymcmurray

creep Creeps is a fun and    addictive tower defense game for the iPod Touch/iPhone.  The theme is the original monsters under your bed in a sense.  You are trying to protect the bed from monsters with certain towers like flashlights, glue, and laser guns. They make the game more difficult by making it so you can’t put towers every where because they have placed graves, rocks, and trees that you must destroy first, but by doing so it gives you more money based on its size.  there are power ups like oil which slow the monsters down, and fans which makes a tornado that will keep the monsters stuck for a while which gives you time to kill them.  Fortunately they regenerate after use and even if you don’t want to use them you can sell them for a good amount of money.  The bosses are just a regular monster only bigger and obviously with more health. Only costs $.99 I found the game worth the price. 9o%

Review for IDracula – Undead Awakening for Iphone/Ipod Touch by fleshandgames

IDracula is a arcade type of game for the Iphone/Ipod touch. In this game you play a vampire hunter killing vampires, warewolves, witches, dracula, and some weird looking animals. There are four different playable modes; survival, super survival, rush, and wave attack; with only three different playable maps (all available from the begining, there is not much to unlock). 8 Different weapons from pistols to gernade launchers to flame throwers. It makes it a little better with a perk system so you can upgrade your health, speed, range of weapons, and other special abilities. In this game they use the wheel controls which sometimes gets a little annoying. This game gets a little repetitive at times with only 3 types of game modes and a lack of CO-OP and leaderboards. Right now its set at .99 cents, its worth it check it out. 75%

Review for Lets Golf for Iphone and Ipod Touch by fleshandgames

Lets Golf is a golf game (obviously) for the Iphone/Ipod touch. This game has ok graphics for the Iphone, but I’ve seen better. There is multiplayer but only on one devise or LAN (via wifi). There is a tournament mode that only consists of four different islands. There is four different characters to choose from; each character you can customize (outfit, hair, and golf ball). Each character has different attributes with power, accuracy, recovery, and putting. The gameplay is very simple you tap the screen to start your swing and then there is a meter bar telling you how much power you are giving the swing. There are a wide variety of clubs including drivers, wedges, and putters (i know nothing about golf). For people who are fans of golf or golf video games I think you should pick this up especially with the .99 cents sale but for people who are not fans of golf I would watch out this is a little frustrating (well for me). but for the price it is pretty good. 75%

Kroll Review. by fleshandgames

OK, lets get the worst things about Kroll out of the way first. Its a bit repetitive and a hair difficult. That’s it. This game is probably one of the BEST action games in the App Store to date.

When you start up Kroll you have the choice to delve into the story by turning the pages of a book or you can just jump into the game. There are 3 difficulties-Normal, Hard, and Insane. The latter is unlockable. Kroll is a side-scrolling hack-n-slash game. You have 2 arrows to press (left and right) and 2 different attacks-A quick, weak, pushback attack and A slow, strong, knockback attack. Tapping the stronger attack “area” will get you a chain combo. Even on the “Normal” difficulty it is pretty hard. There are 2 meters to charge by using killing enemies and not dying. They will get you a special attack, triggered by shaking your device. There are a few chapters and within each chapter there are 3 levels. After the 3 levels is a Boss Fight. Witch is basically an impressive Quicktime-Event. The levels are very entertaining and the Boss Fights are very impressive to watch.

The BEST part of Kroll is it’s killer visuals. This game is the most visually impressive game on the App Store I’ve seen.
Kroll is great. Its a bit difficult, but it looks great and its fun to play (and look at). I don’t know if its worth $7.99 but, its AT LEAST worth the $.99 sale price now. Go buy it. Now. 95%

iHunt 3D Review. by fleshandgames

iHunt is in the App Store to let you unleash your inner Red-neck. This game is probably the best hunting experience on the iPhone. iHunt is a very boring game, like hunting.

There are 2 modes to play-Quick Hunt and Full Hunt. In both modes you are limited to a perch in the middle of a field with random, varying environments. In “Full Hunt” you start out with the bare essentials to hunting, a rifle and 3 clips of ammo. As you shoot down your prey you gain cash which in turn lets you buy a shotgun, bow, ammo, camo, scent eliminator, adjustable scope, and the majorly expensive radar. There are about 2 different animals you can hunt-Deer and Birds.Once you take out a deer, it’ll take about 1 minute for another to appear. Hence it is hard to get cash, therefore it takes much dedication to be getting the more expensive items from the store. In “Quick Hunt” you already have an adjustable scope and unlimited ammo. The better mechanic with this mode you can choose the environment (because some are eye melting to look at).

iHunt 3D is a game with a lot of content in some areas and the true(st) hunting experience on the iPhone. But the game is SO boring and requires a lot of dedication to hit the (awful) stride of the game. You can spend your $.99 on a better game in the App Store 75% (like Kroll(which is on sale)

Review for Star Defense for Iphone and Ipod Touch by fleshandgames

Star Defense is not your normal tower dense game. Star Defense is a tower defense set on multiple planets/stars. There are 7 different stars in the campaign and 2 challenge stars. In the campaign you have to defend your base on that star from waves of enemies. So far i saw only 4 different enemies…..very disappointing. Their are facebook connect and twitter connectivities so you can challenge all your Iphone gaming buddies. The Iphone game developers ngmoco have made a social network on their games called plus+ that i have only seen in Star Defense. This game is priced at 5.99 right now. This is a great game for an ok price I really recommend it. 80%

Wurdle Review. by fleshandgames

There are a few crossword games in the iPhone App Store. One of them that stand out is a game called “wurdle”. In “wurdle” you are given a grid of letters-4×4 to 8×8 and the ability to change the play time to 1 minute to 5 minutes to unlimited. What you actually do to play is dragging your finger across letters of the grid to make words, longer the words, the more points get. If you are dissatisfied with the Dictionary wurdle is using, they have 2 to switch from. If you cannot find any words in the grid, just shake to shuffle the letters. Also, change the minimum word length(3 letters is set by default). You can make an account and set Local and Global Highscores. You can change Wallpaper and Tile images(not with your own pics sadly.). There is no incentive to keep playing this game after a few playthroughs, except it’s sheer addictivity. Overall wurdle is a great game with little replay value, but for the price of $2.99 and a good amount of addictivity, its a great game. 85%

Bloons Review. by fleshandgames

Do you like Darts?! Do you like B[al]loons?! Do you like physics fun?! If yes, you’ll love Bloons. “Bloons” is a spin-off of one of the most popular Tower Defence games on the internet. The object of “Bloons” is to pop a predetermined amount of Balloons with a set amount of darts. There are multiple Power-Ups such as weights that will fall onto ballons below them when hit and “Tri-Shot” darts. Bloons is one of those games you can play on a short notice or spend an hour playing. Some of the “puzzles” are somewhat frustrating, but the game is an overall enjoyment. With 150 levels and a price of $2.99 this makes a great app, despite the addicting frustration. 85%

Review for StackUS by fleshandgames

Stackus is an APP for the iPod touch and iPhone. If you have ever heard of Super Stacker for the PC, this game is a lot like that. There are differences though. There are no faces on these blocks and there is no direct way of doing it. Now, if you haven’t heard of Super Stacker or stackus it is a game where you must get all of the objects from one side to the other. But it gets difficult because there are four basic objects square, triangle, circle, and rectangle. The darker the shade of color the darker they are. The actual color makes no difference. The game gets a bit tricky when you have to get objects from the bottom so everything starts falling. The physics of the game are somewhat realistic. Overall I find this game worth the price of $.99. 90%
